I think in yr 12 they might do an imaginary life. I did it in yr 11 so if u need help I can maybe help. But if u really want to then ask ur teachers what they study next yearhi guys does anyone know the texts 2027ers will study in eng advanced cuz like apparently it changed and i want to know if theres anything i can get ahead of in english
Wait which subjects are u picking. Honestly if ur good at chem then pick it cause yr 11 bio can kinda be boring cause it’s all the boring animals stuff like stupid periwinkles.I can’t pick between bio or chem
(I’d do both to see which one I prefer but sounds like my school won’t let me do 14 units)
In my opinionI can’t pick between bio or chem
(I’d do both to see which one I prefer but sounds like my school won’t let me do 14 units)
But is bio also has a lot of content. But yr 12 bio seems more interestingIn my opinion
bio easier but more boring
chem harder but more interesting
but u can see which one I dropped
why does it change if u change schoolsHey guys!!
I'm also 2027 grad year and i was getting opinions on my subject selection (these are only for year 11)
Also for reference, I'm looking into a career in either law or medicine

If I move to North Sydney Girls:

For reference, my year 12 subjects will be:

Maths Ext 2
Economics
Chemistry
normally, your teachers will choose a book from a really long list of nesa approved ones, but in eng advanced you do a common module with standard which is your first term, then you move into adv. and stand. courses. In advanced, you normally do Shakespeare and an accompanying film that reflects the shakespearean book you study, for this you will most likely be given a comparison exam, or an exam with two parts to evaluate both texts. In between and after, you'll have 'smaller' tasks like short answer comprehension, and creative writing. You may learn how to write a discursive but that is more year 12 stuff.hi guys does anyone know the texts 2027ers will study in eng advanced cuz like apparently it changed and i want to know if theres anything i can get ahead of in english
I'm actually doing both at the moment as well! Bio is kinda tricky cause i think they've changed the marking criteria for longer answers meaning that if you leave out a subject specific terminology once, you get marked down. Plus i feel like my school just taught it really poorly, especially on how to answer the longer answered questions.I can’t pick between bio or chem
(I’d do both to see which one I prefer but sounds like my school won’t let me do 14 units)
Business is waaaaay easier than eco so i've heard-hey guysss can someone pls review my subjects for yr 11, i feel like i have the default student subjects. Im looking for a career in like medicine (gp, dentistry, vet) or if i dont get in then business (analyst)
they are:
eng ext 1
- i get like satisfactory marks in eng currently so im def dropping this in yr 12 but Im only doing extension so it can help with my advanced in yr 12 and also to help me fill in one more extra unit. I really dont want to do morning classes thooo. btw i have an english tutor
maths ext 1
- i get like pretty middish high marks in maths and if i work hard enough i def think i can do it. i have a maths tutor
bio
- ive already started tutoring for this so i think i wont be changing this choice
chem
-ive also started tutoring for this, need this for medicine def
business studies
- okok i was thinking either business studies or economics but i think i enjoy more small world things and less abstract info to apply. should i be doing tutoring for thistell me pls. i get like really ass marks in commerce tho but maybe i just need to work harder??
I play the cello and piano and i do music as an elective so i was thinking music for a back up subject but i feel like i cant balance practicing my instrument and studying for 2 sciences effectively. i also get mid ass marks in music sooo
total is 12 units cuz i think if u do 13 you get 2 less free periods?? idk but i want as much studying time as possible to maximise the marks
someone help me pls im so lost and my subjects are literally due in like 4 days
I read the first part and I thought us said that English was straight forward and that u didn't need a tutor for it and I was gonna punch u jkBusiness is waaaaay easier than eco so i've heard-
plus apparently from older years i've heard it's easier to band 6 so i'd say go for that. And for tutoring if you have an English tutor you don't really need it cause it's pretty straight forward, you just need to really know subject specific things as teachers will look for this because they know the subject is straight forwards so they kinda wanna see if you know more than the average person- if that makes sense.
Honestly i did music and had 14 units, but i dropped it and went to 12 units because of the fact that i didn't actually have any study periods at all- and it is quite a bit to balance. However, if you still have study periods in total, it should be ok but genuinely study periods are a GIFT FROM GODDDDDDDD. so like yeah- if you're getting 'mid' marks in music then don't push yourself to go for it, especially if you wanna drop it for year 12 because you seem like you need the other subjects a lot-
hope this helppssssssss
