year 8 was the best year i reckon. year 7 u were adjusting to the high school lifestyle. year 9 and 10 mattered if u wanted to go tafe or maybe get into ext subjects (i think you cant go into year 11 if u do trash in year 9 or 10) and year 11 and 12 is basically trying to get into a good uni. year 8 was a filler year lmao u had nothing to worry about.

Honestly, I feel like you only needed to lock in from yr10 onwards. Year 9 is important if you go to certain schools or navigating a new school systems (this is mostly mine since our senior school is completely different from middle school).
