And also, I've been in a similar situation with making lots of silly mistakes etc...
I don't think its correlated to IQ, its related to other brain wiring things often like concentration focus (or any 'disorder' or spectrum etc everyone is different)
And just to note, I've always done exceptionally well on IQ tests so I wouldn't correlate it with IQ, despite there being a correlation with pattern recognition and learning speed. (especially if you studied for IQ tests which IMO completely defeats the purpose of the test and is ridiculous - also note that IQ tests tend to benefit those who are in a higher socioeconomic position especially in earlier years. There is no definitive test for intelligence)

guys do we need to memorise our student numbers? i heard some schools force you to write yours on exam papers and stuff but my school doesnt do that.
im pretty sure my school gave students their number on the day of the hsc exam on a little paper since they didnt have to memorise (also what if you memorise and remember it incorrectly?)
You don't need to memorise it. NESA provides a candidate number slip at the exam centre on the day. Even if your school does ask you to write it on internal assessments, the actual HSC exams are handled through the exam supervisor giving you that info. Don't stress about it.

guys pls give me motivation...

I studied my ass off for half yearlies and people who didn't study as much as me or know the content as well as me beat me in my exams, either because of my stupid mistakes or because the teacher made the exam really easy.

does anyone get my frustration?
Girl, this was me last year. I completly understand the struggle! Do you feel anxious before exams? From personal experience, it was when my mind was clear and focused on the task at hand, with the absence of anxiety about what mark I would get, when I would make fewer 'silly mistakes'. I tried using a mistakes book especially for maths and chemistry, and I would revise these problems I got wrong which did help me overall minimise my 'silly mistakes' before trials. But also, comparing yourself to others will yield you no joy; stay in your lane!

From personal experience, my ATAR was in the range that term 1 2025 me would've been dissapointed with, but by the time I got my results back, I was proud of myself for trying as hard as I did.

Like you said, you are still studying. Don't beat yourself up on these mistakes, treat them as learning oppurtunities.

Wishing you all the best for your studies :).

No, you will not need to memorise it (but after writing it a million and one different times you will almost certainly know it pretty well). You get provided with your number for each exam. Additionally, in the bona fide HSC exams, it will be printed at least once on each of your exam papers and the invigilators will walk you through it. And your table name will have a copy of your student number. The supervisors will CHECK to make sure you have written your student number on the correct pages.

Also irrelevant idk who needs to hear this, but you also lowkey get a 'sneak-peak' of your HSC exams before reading time begins, becuase your invigilators will ask you go to page-by-page to make sure that you aren't missing any papers.
