Hi all. At the moment I am doing 12 units (4u english, maths adv, earth and environmental, art, LEGAL) and I would like some advice and clarification.

Legal studies is the subject I hate with every fibre of my being. Every day I lament picking it. My school has not allowed me to drop the subject because I do English Extension 2 and they are scared of the subjectivity in terms of marking. If 2 units don't count towards my atar, is it a bad idea if I make it legal and just not study because studying legal studies is physically painful and burns me out? Or should I study in case I bomb in my other subjects (even though I'm doing pretty okay in all of them)? Let me know!!!!!!!

Is your legal rank much worse than that of your other subjects? If it'd 90% be your worst subject anyway, even without studying, then yeah definitely don't bother and concentrate your effort on the subjects that will count.

Even if not, burnout is real, and if studying legal prevents you from studying well for your other subjects, then leave it. Forcing you to keep 12 units because of ee2 is unreasonable of your school. The b6 rates in ee1 and ee2 and very high, and so is their scaling, so I wouldn't worry about that too much (especially if you're confident with your major work).

honestly legal is one of the subjects you can't rlly bludge, theres a lot of memorisation + writing practice involved. if anything id drop it, its not rlly a subject where u can fake it till u make it.
