The benefit of completing a Bachelor of Advanced Studies can vary across different fields and majors. This applies to business/commerce and to the majors under the Bachelor of Commerce. From a knowledge perspective, completing advanced coursework is always good as it results in greater theoretical/practical knowledge of the chosen area compared to solely completing the standard 3-year degree. It is also common to use the Bachelor of Advanced Studies to complete an Honours year, which allows you to explore/research a specific area(s) to a much larger extent than is possible in the standard 3-year degree. Doing so means that you would technically be graduating with a higher-level qualification (AQF level 8) than you would should you complete a standard 3-year Bachelor degree (AQF level 7).
To my knowledge, the Bachelor of Advanced Studies is not an essential requirement for business roles. The Bachelor of Commerce is largely sufficient. However, it may translate into practical benefits (whether through advanced coursework or Honours) to students majoring in finance/maths-related areas, more so than students of other majors. Completing an Honours year is also beneficial if you intend to complete higher degree research (for example, a PhD), in which case the Bachelor of Advanced Studies becomes an academic requirement for admission. Conversely, the Bachelor of Advanced Studies is not an academic requirement for admission into a postgraduate non-HDR degree, which is essentially any Master's degree that is not a Master of Research or Master of Philosophy. Here, the 3-year Bachelor of Commerce is also largely sufficient.
I hope this helps!
