I'm currently completing a secondary education degree and was wondering if marks matter that much during your studies. Is it okay to do bad on some assignments, and what affect does that have in the future?

it shouldn't matter much like if you're meeting minimum academic requirements and not failing entire units then it's fine, you'll still graduate and employers won't care about your transcript

I guess if you have postgrad plans like master's/phd, even just honours, or a competitive postgrad degree like med then marks would matter

if ur goal is to work as a secondary teacher then marks don’t really matter for getting a job, as long as u know how to teach good and do well in ur placements
of course you should know the content so i wouldn’t bludge either, but if u mess up one assignment no one is really gonna care
