I'm currently studying in James Ruse, and I've tried helping my younger sister gain entry into these schools since we heard about sibling preference, but her EDUTEST exam marks are failing her entry into these two schools. My younger sibling who is in year 10 as of 2025 is applying to enter into Baulkham Hills High School and James Ruse for 2026. She is already in a top 10 ranking selective school, and her grades as well as extracurricular is fantastic. The only issue is that she applied previously 2 times, and her examination performance marks for the EDUTEST (Verbal Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Reading, Maths, Writing) were bad, which restrained her entry from these two schools. We paid for the Edutest package for her, and it didn't even help her as the real test was much harder than Edutest's practice tests. Could anyone who has transferred from 8-11 to either JRAHS, or BHHS, provide studying tips and resources/links for the preparation for the EDUTEST. Any structure and practice tips for the test as well as interview tips would help too. Thank you so much, as preparing for this exam has become a huge burden especially knowing that EDUTEST is the only well known publicised prep tool for this examination, and it's exam prep is so bad. If there are any other websites or tools which have helped with the entry to these two schools, it would be great to know. Thanks again :)

I was contacting you see if the school cared whether you got a D on your report or not. I heard Edutest matters most and then reports they ask but not care so much. Is this true? Does she still have a chances if she got a D in two subjects but this only accounted for one test and she recovered with anA+ in the half yearly examination recently?

Hi! I didn't get any D's in my report ever. I do remember getting a few B's for earlier term tests but baulko seemed to be okay with that :)

Tysmmm! do you think she has a chance in getting into jr because she has pretty good portfolio and additional information and we didn’t have a recommendation letter, and I’m sure she’ll get too on the edutest, it’s only her reports that are worrying me. She got 2 ds, one in science and the other is irrelevant. We uploaded her latest science result to show that she improved. Is that good enough though? Do you think she has a chance if she attains the highest edutest marks?

honestly I can't say. It depends on the other people that applied so how strong the competition is, and how many baulko is willing to take in. my year baulko took in 17 and a lot of us had really strong portfolios and capa achievements along with good grades. but like last year they only took a handful so still in the single digits. wish your sister all the best tho!

Alright, well she’s applying for jr year 11, and they take in like 30 students including some from public schools so I’m hoping she does fine considering her latest science assessment could save her D grade
