I know past papers are the key, but how many? In what way should I do them? What are the easiest and hardest ones? Should I do topic by topic or interleaved trial exams? Etc etc.

With regards to this, I want to know what is the best way that I can learn from my mistakes and actually improve? Do I just “spam” past papers do I prioritise quality over quantity?

Yes, spam practise papers, maybe start by a couple trial papers, and pick out any topics you're rusty with to look over again, refine, then spam out more trial papers. always go under timed conditions, and if you don't have enough time adjust the time according to marks (like minutes per mark). always mark your papers, and bookmark all lost marks which weren't silly mistakes (like a knowledge gap). resist looking at the solutions and try solve it even like after time's up, because its really likely there'll be questions you have no choice but to skip in the hsc. save the hsc past papers till the end when you're really confident.

i havent tried the bos trials myself but i did obtain some horrible trials written privately (so bad that the avg mark was in the fifties), but with the hard ones id say do them when you're confident with everything, just to get a feel, but still save most hscs for last
