short answer always, you get 10 minutes of reading time at the start, if you read all the texts, then do you essay, well say bye bye to 10 minutes cause you're going to have to read them againIm actually really confused how do people approach paper 1? Do they do short answers first or the essay because the time is so short and the recommended time is 45 minutes per section
wait so real but i literally take so long to read and find techniques and stuffshort answer always, you get 10 minutes of reading time at the start, if you read all the texts, then do you essay, well say bye bye to 10 minutes cause you're going to have to read them again
you don't need to read the whole thing, with short answers you can literally yap about anything, it's all up to your interpretation, it really depends on the marks, i'd recommend getting a quote from the start, middle and end for a 4 marker, that way you're showing you read the whole thing (which u should still skim to get the general idea), but saving timewait so real but i literally take so long to read and find techniques and stuff![]()
ok no because I think you just saved my life what about like a 6 marker thats comparing the texts how can I easily yap about thatyou don't need to read the whole thing, with short answers you can literally yap about anything, it's all up to your interpretation, it really depends on the marks, i'd recommend getting a quote from the start, middle and end for a 4 marker, that way you're showing you read the whole thing (which u should still skim to get the general idea), but saving time
i'd say divide up your 10 minutes according to how much marks per question, so half a minute per mark, if there's a longer question spend more time on it, and actually get more evidence. lowk you can still yap in the longer questions, but it's more structured, like aim to have an opening, concluding sentence and what not. also i'm still figuring it out, but this is what i would do at leastok no because I think you just saved my life what about like a 6 marker thats comparing the texts how can I easily yap about that
imo i disagreeshort answer always, you get 10 minutes of reading time at the start, if you read all the texts, then do you essay, well say bye bye to 10 minutes cause you're going to have to read them again
yea this is totally valid, i did it this way for prelims and it worked out just fine. i also had the fear of rushing my essay, so i got it out of the way before doing the SAQs. the only issue is that i did have to spend more time refreshing my brain regarding the texts, cause obviously you won't be thinking abt your comp texts while writing your essay lol. i guess both ways have pros and consimo i disagree
i'd still need time to actually fully understand the text, and if i read the texts first, then do the essay, i'll kinda have everything in the back of my mind when doing the essay
and when im done w/ the essay ill have the mental space and matured understanding of each text so my responses are better
also its super stressful for me to do the short answer knowing that ill have to vomit an essay out right after so its a lot more reassuring when the essay is out of the way.
yeah this is so true but at the same time you would be more drained after the essay so would you do 10 minutes reading time the texts and then do the essay then get back to what you were reading?imo i disagree

if it works for you then that's all that matters, but i try to finish the short answers first, you don't need to fully understand the text, they give u only 10 minutesimo i disagree
