Hi guys, this is my first post on BOS so please tell me if I'm doing something wrong
.
I'm a Year 9 student currently attending a partially-selective school in Sydney that people usually say "isn't very highly ranked" (it is usually ranked around 140-ish for HSC). I am thinking about trying to move schools next year to a higher ranked selective school for Year 11 entry. Not entirely sure what information is necessary but here's a few things:
- Dux of Year 9
- 1st in Year 9 Maths
- 1st in Geography
- 1st in Food Technology
- 1st in Year 10 Maths (through my school's acceleration program)
- 2nd in Commerce
- 3rd in PDHPE
- I have achieved straight A's in all subjects since Year 8 Semester 1
- Next year I will join my schools Maths Peer Tutoring Program
- I am currently a private Maths tutor
- I am often asked to participate in my schools competitions (Biotech futures, DaVinci decathlon...)
- I am co-founder/runner of my school's book club
- I am a member of my school's newsletter team
I have very little idea about what is required to enter other selective schools (eg. selection, grades etc.) or whether I would be able to even get into other schools as I assume they are very competitive. In terms of schools, I've considered Fort Street and Sydney Boys but am truly not set. Any information would be really greatly appreciated (regarding selection, requirements, info/quirks for schools, etc.). I am happy to answer any follow-up questions.
Thanks so much!!!
