Hello to whoever reads this, I'm struggling to decide between Physics and Health & Movement science. I've basically decided on Maths adv and Ext1, English Advanced, Modern history, Biology, SLR and Physics/HMS. I've really got no clue, HMS would tie in well with my Biology but I'm decent at math, not great at problem solving though. Any help is appreciated and no I do not know what I wanna do in UNI. Thank you :)

Doing physics will give you the most options when deciding which subject to drop at the end of prelims, but choose based on what you think is best for you. Physics is also good assumed knowledge for engineering courses.

I did fairly decent for the physics part of science, even with cramming last minute so with studying I feel it'll be fine but I'm not fantastic at problem solving, just average. PDHPE isn't too closely related to HMS, I feel like its more so a mix of PASS and biology, both of which im pretty deceent at

Physics scales better but don't let that make or break your final decision. Pick the one you think you'll enjoy the most.
Yea its hard tho because HMS is a very new subject so there aren't any past papers to look at, seems to be a very essay kind of subject with small bits of science.

Physics is much better and way more enjoyable than "Health and movement science"

Like despite it having movement in the name your not analysing moving bodies, you're just writing essays just like any other humanities. Meanwhile in physics you actually deal with displacement, velocity and acceleration.

There's barely any problem solving in physics cause all u do is just plug values in calclator. At most there will only be one rigorous problem solving calc question (or maybe none like in the 2024 paper)

ok this might be a biased view. But choose whatever u feel u will enjoy. And also from what I've heard u still do a lot of analysing body movement and u do pracs based on this stuff but I might be wrong

Is HMS the new ver of PDHPE? if so I imagine the pracs would be similar to what my friends go through although like every reply from above just choose the one you would probably enjoy the most. If you like how human bodies work then I imagine HMS would be more well suited, if you prefer learning about how physical objects interact with the world then ofc its physics.
