Our school never gets band 6s in science, and when it does it's always a low band 6 below 95.

I have a feeling we just get shitty markers all the time.

Why doesn't NESA randomize it, and why can't they double mark every subject instead of just english?

there are mechanisms in place to make sure marking is fair, the marker is different for each question and every now and then they get given a dummy response and if they give it the wrong mark they get locked out.

my school was similar (prob worse lol) and I think a lot of it is because of teaching and just student quality. and a lot of kids who just rely on the teacher can end up a bit screwed because sometimes they’ll just miss/not correctly teach certain syllabus points

Just curious, where did you get this information from?

It says on their website " Most HSC marking is done online and outside school hours using Markers Online" and they go to markers centers just to be supervised?

they still touch the paper physically to highlight stuff, this was something staff highlighted. they highlight stuff like this all the time. so i doubt its even fully online

I remember I had a teacher who's husband was like the one who scanned HSC papers and sent them through. And she was telling us how he had to look through each paper to ensure no extra writing is missed and stuff. Maybe its like that? idk though. I could be wrong.
