But for the next part of the question, I'm so confused with what to do - can someone please help me
Also with the 2nd question, do you calculate the magnitude of the normal force and sub into the static friction equation?

Static friction would be in the opposite direction of the frictional force if the truck were in motion.

In this case, I believe the static friction would be the same value as the frictional force at the maximum possible velocity. The static friction would also be banked. Recall from Year 11 Physics of Module 2 dynamics.

Actually, I disagree. Kinetic friction and static friction are both forces that oppose the external force, with the only difference being the magnitude of the force.
Static friction is greater than kinetic friction, because stationary objects slot into the ground (on an atomic scale) or whatever is below them, such that to get the atoms out and across requires greater force than sliding it over them.
