im in yr 11 term 2 rn, and for the first assessment i got a 70%.. it was on all of algebra and functions.. and in the topic tests weve been doing i havent been doing AMAZING either.. usually in the 50s/60s.. and my teacher talked to me saying that i maybe should drop bc my understanding pace isnt fast enough and also how an 80 in adv and an 80 in standard is the same thing.. idk if im being delusional but i genuienly believe that i can do good in adv math if i just practice continously.. the thing with me is i barely do the hw so i feel like if i just practice then i feel like ill be good....

i just dont know if its worth dropping/staying.. bc i dont want it to effect my atat and limit my options..

help? :')

if u know that u can improve if u just do more practice then maybe stay. But if ur not willing to put in the work then maybe drop to standard. But also if u drop to standard u have to catch up on all the work from term 1, so that's smth to keep in mind. But also depending on what career u want to do, many degrees such as engineering and other STEM careers might have prerequisites or assumed knowledge for math advanced so that's also smth to keep in mind

standard math might be easier but u still have to get good marks in it if u want to do good. But also if ur struggling a lot in adv then maybe standard will save u a lot of time and ur marks might get better. So it depends. If ur willing to put in the effort to do well in adv then it is worth it but if not then maybe standard is better
