well if u want a fucking safety net do 12
you only need a fucking safety net cause ur doing excessive amount of work when only 10 units are needed, meaning ur results decrease for all subjects.

also I'm so lucky in my school cause there's only 3 subjects in year 11 and 3 subjects in year 12 and I decided I could drop shitty biology.

I think the HSC should be like this for all schools

ik but ppl take 12 units so that if they stuff up one subject it doesnt go towards their atar
i don't want to get involved, but i think what they're saying is that doing 12 units vs 10 may negatively affect your performance across those 12 units, whereas with 10, you have more time to devote to each subject, hence "no such thing"

yea duh but im asking if they can take half a unit of a subject
e.g. they take eng adv, math adv, maths ext1, eng ext1, phys, eng ext 2 which is 9 units but i still have eco left
can they take 1 unit of eco if i performed the worst in that in all my subjects

I'm very confused by this question, but I believe, yes you can take 1 unit of eco
But I was under the impression that both "units" of a subject were the same, so is that really a positive?

from my understanding if u do 11 units, they usually take 1 unit from 1 subject and another unit from another subject, although im not sure which subjects exactly they derive those units from. one unit would definitely be from like math ext1 but idk where the other one would come from
