~51/70 for ext 1
~48/100 for ext 2

I'm on the edge because of chemistry and English where the scaled mark (not HSC or raw mark) for English is confirmed to be 39/100 (even though it should've been 45, just fucktarded people ruined the scaling), and Chemistry where my scaled mark will be around 55/100, so if ext 1 and 2 scale unusually low like how it did in 2024, it could be detrimental. Well at least I get at least 1 point from EAS. I need a scaled mark of atleast 340/500 to get 85 atar
Also, 48/100 in Ext 2 maths and 51/70 in Ext 1? 💀
Gng, you had 10 mins reading time plus 3 hours for like 33 questions... What were you doing, meditating between each one?

just so you know, atar is calculated based on the year you get your hsc as far as I know - if you did english adv a year early but graduate this year, then your raw mark is only used in the 2025 calculations.
For example I got a low B6 in english adv (alignment) which means they use my raw mark (around 86 idk) to calculate my aggregate after scaling.
Also it looks like 2021 scaled worse than 2024, and in fact better than the rest in the low band 5 area.

Unfortunately the system is not perfect (no single system is) and comparing students who do different subjects in this way only perpetuates the idea that some people are smarter or dumber for doing certain subjects.

I heard that they are phasing out the atar in years to come. I do believe it will be better if universities stop considering atars entirely and look instead at how students do in the context of their educational environment - like in the US or UK (except without the unnecessary emphasis on extracurriculars).

Just some random thoughts, correct me if I made any errors

Also you haven’t got your atar yet so don’t worry about it until you get it and it’s much lower than you were expecting.

I used my actual hsc marks in multiple calculators and (except for the matrix calculator) they all estimated it to within 0.05.

unless i'm misinterpreting you, i don't think that's right?

pretty sure there's a couple of people who r saying they use the year you do the exam not the year you finish your main courses?

EDIT: that's all good stuff, but here's what UAC has to say

I can assure you a 48/100 and 51/70 in ext 1 isn't doing damage to English scaling at all, in fact it probably drags English scaling up (since I scored low in English and scored above average in ext 1)

Meanwhile there are legit moronic losers who can't even answer 20% in fucking TWO unit maths.
These morons LOWER drag down the scaling for English since they perform well in English but can't even get above a 20%.
(UAC scales subjects based on English performance, conversely it scales English performance in other subjects such as Maths)

There's this one they/them "English nerd" in my last year class who's so proud of getting a mother fucking band 3 in math advanced.
She reaps every benefits, while people like her ruin my scaling for English. UAC fucking scales her band 3 (20% raw) to a 50/100 scaled mark. That's incredibly fucking high for how easy the test is. Anything below a fucking band 5 in math advanced should scale maximum 50/100.

If you can't score atleast a high band 5 in math advanced, you're below average intelligence.

If anything, the only thing I'm dragging down is maths Ext 1 scaling, since I performed reasonably well at it while having a very low English mark.

Did you do extension 2?
if you didnt you cant be judging no matter how whack coolcat is
48/100 isn't even bad, especially given the fact I've scored a band 6 in TWO unit MAdv.

Most people doing English can't even get above a 30/100 in TWO unit maths

Imo hardest to easiest tests were
Maths Adv
Music 2
English Adv
Modern
Geo
History X
SOR1
Is this ranking like standardised for all tests or is it how hard each test was respective to its subject (As in, a 3hr Math Adv paper would naturally be harder than 1hr 30min English Paper 1, so does the ranking consider the amount of content in each paper or is just about the raw difficulty of each exam)

Nah holistics admissions will always be inferior compared to standardized testing and merit based entrance.

ATAR could be fixed if English mandate was removed (which is the case in Western Australia)

Checking your profile you only did maths advanced

Embarrassing

You're just bullying the person at this point. A hypocrite

At least he/she attempted Mx1 and Mx2
You didn't and you're hear mocking his/her marks when you don't know how hard those subjects are

Can I just say the mood at the beginning of every exam where the NESA invigilators ask students to check that every page of the exam is so hilarious cuz in my experience everyone just flicks straight to the essay question they're most scared for and then looks around the room to their friends super worried

Mind you this always comes after you've already tried to peer through the transparency of the page and see if you can read the beginning questions of the exam while the invigilators read that excessively long speech about not having a phone or any other materials.
