honestly lady lazarus can be a triggering poem for some and ted hughes' the shot is deeply problematic... ted hughes is problematic generally lolAlso, Ariel by Sylvia Plath and Birthday Letters by Ted Hughes is oml too much, I lowkey cried one to many a time because of it.
i feel like mod b difficulty depends on prescribed text. i do shakespeare and i'm chilling rn because his themes are so rudimentary but he uses so many techniques in his poetry. the characters are sort of ambiguous too so you can interpret them to fit the narrative you form.scale of difficulty imo
Mod B > Mod A > Common Mod > Mod C
Mod C is just yapping and you don't have to stress ab memorising any quotes besides 3 max (5/10 mark reflection tbh is a steal I will cry of happiness if we get it) and tbh you can make your story in the moment and get as good as someone who memorised/adapted their story... I'm saying this as someone with no creative mind aswMod A is slightly harder cause its comparative iirc (haven't got up to it
) and than mod B is the one you need critics, analysis on all the poems for the hsc, a whole mess fck Eliot and his damn poems
Can someone explain why we're considering mod C to be the easiest? Imo it's the least straightforward to prepare for, and the fact that you have to prepare to write for 10, 12, 15 or 20 marks makes it even worsei feel like mod b difficulty depends on prescribed text. i do shakespeare and i'm chilling rn because his themes are so rudimentary but he uses so many techniques in his poetry. the characters are sort of ambiguous too so you can interpret them to fit the narrative you form.
my diffiuclty ranking would go:
Common Mod (most diversity in essay questions so its hard to memorise an essay) > Mod A (comparative is so fkn annoying) > Mod B > Mod C
the question should be how are we feeling abt english : DCan someone explain why we're considering mod C to be the easiest? Imo it's the least straightforward to prepare for, and the fact that you have to prepare to write for 10, 12, 15 or 20 marks makes it even worse
Also, how are we feeling about short answers??
