I'm going to pause on responding to messages after this so that the situation might cool down, a little.

The posts were removed, and that was the end of that situation. I then reminded users to stay on topic, but a certain user did not respect that request. that is the reason for the ban. Users are free to discuss their thoughts on both Israel and Palestine, in threads that are more appropriate. When I say, "the end of the situation", I mean that moderator actions taken were not as a result of any particular messages posted in that conversation. As i said earlier, it was not just for the one-time defiance. the user had been publically challenging my decisions for several days in the lead-up and the post today was just the catalyst for the ban.

i would like to please urge you to make impartial decisions as stipulated by your moderation application. actions such as bans and deletions should not be influenced by personal grievances as this would be an abuse of moderation. furthermore there is no ruling in which a user must stay on topic, thus users did not have probable motive to heed the warning, given that it was made baselessly. please look into the situation again, and if i am wrong then i will leave it at that, but until the argument has been dissected my point stands. thank you.

socialism had a reason and it wasn’t personal . It may have been an error but we musnt be judgemental and we don’t need to why . There is a reason it’s confid and we need to respect that whether we agree or not

I wouled like to see justice done and gossipgirl given a chance especially as its a difficult time . Can I ask for a reconsideration regarding gossipgirl along with a notice of what is not acceptable so this issue doesnt continue .

I wont interfere now but I wanted to share that for what it’s worth

I know I might be adding fuel to the fire, but I'm gonna try and phrase my thoughts as eloquently as possible:

Me personally, I don't think drawing political views into this is relevant (although if you guys wanna talk about that go ahead). Thank you @Socialism for addressing this though. Also, I don't think anybody is denying the fact that we should be following moderator instructions. At the risk of sounding offensive (or hell, being banned) I think that the reason everyone is protesting is because nobody can see why her actions warranted deletion in the first place. If somebody doesn't believe their actions wrong, doesn't it make sense they ignore it?

As @C2H6O said, we - or at least I - do respect you, and your moderator position. (All hail the orange banner!) It is undoubtable that you have a meaningful and large presence here, so I'm not calling that into question. But I believe many of us 2025ers find it a tad uncomfortable considering you're younger than the majority of us - especially those of us who knew you before - and further, these deletions (as far as I'm aware) only ramped up after your promotion. I'm not attacking you, I'm just pointing out an alternative viewpoint.

We understand that infractions are infractions, and that the moderator's word is the moderator's word. However, I think we feel that this particular ruling has been a bit heavy-handed - at least that a ban wasn't in order, though a warning, sure. It has never really been mentioned in the past how 'necessary' staying on topic was, and since this thread (which I assume is where everything occurred) is titled 'chat', we all chat about whatever topics we desire. At least, before an outright ban, a clearer warning and declaration of forum rules would have been in order?
