Quick question to the advanced math ppl, how do you determine the strength of the correlation coefficient based on the value of the coefficient, e.g. 1 or -1 means perfect correlation and 0 means no correlation? I remember running across like a rule of thumb where they said things like correlation coefficients ranging between this and this are moderate in strength and stuff like that.
1 is a strong positive correlation i.e all points fit in a line of best fit that goes upwards, this is true vice versa for -1. 0 is where all points are completely scattered and it is impossible for a line of best fit to be possible.

Also 0.5 or -0.5 would be moderately positive and moderately negative correlation respectively.

1 or -1 means strong /perfect correlation. below 0.50 is weak and then between 0.50 to 0.75 is moderate.

yep the closer to zero the weaker the correlation, the closer to 1/-1 the higher the correlation

bro what do I do if I have like really bad coughs
im not sick or anything but ik they’ll be triggered during the exams and I physically cannot stay in the room it’s so bad I lose my train of thought😭 I can’t file for being sick or smth cuz im not but ik i cannot contain myself
Plus it’s fkn english exams first i have no time to waste
I've had the same thing all week, but its gotten better so theres still a chance it could go away b4 the exams --> if u do it in the exam room make sure an exam invigilator sees and stuff cause then if u need to they could sign off on smthn for nesa saying like misadventure? maybe?

i would talk about the power of performance. like how richard standing between bishops shows how is humble/pure and etc etc and is feigning modesty to get the citizens to want him as king. like its ironic how they say "his grace stands, tween two clergyman". for pacino i would talk about how pacino fake acts like an everydayman throughout his docudrama to achieve his purpose --> make shakespeare accessible to a modern audience and this is evident when he says "its an act and these people buy it"

idk this is just my interpretation and obvs id include it in my already prepared paragraph on the power of performance

my two themes are pursuit of power and duplicity so i would keep them the same for all questions and just adapt.
for this question i adapted pursuit of power by talking about how shakespeare saturates kr3 with religious allusions (refer to extract and wider text) to appeal to elizabethan morals and how richard's evil is seen through his constant search for power. contrastingly, pacino removes these religious references and involves the audience through street interviews (refer to extract and more), etc, making it more accessible for them to understand richard's power in a modern context.

then for duplicity i used the extract in kr3 to talk about how he purposely positions himself with religious symbols to show the appearances vs reality and then also talking about in lfr how this is adapted as pacino uses duplicity himself to further his ambitions

idk if this is right, but i use similar stuff in my trials and stuff and did quite well?

what would u interpret it as ?
my first para would be on how unbridled ambition corrupts - but pacino takes on a more ambiguous approach w a positive outloko on ambition to reflect postmodern america
my second para would be on how superficial identities ultimately face downfall + importance of public support in politics (which is something that is still relevant) - but this would be where i start talking abt religion more for kr3

ngl ive never split the rise and fall like this into 2 paras so idk if it's correct/effective

prepare for everything lol discursives are simply about exploring two different ideas and use anecdotes (can be made up). honestly discursives should be one of the best to write asw compared to imaginative or persuasive
