for applying to uni - uac is it right? is there anything we need to do after that or anything after the hsc we need to do??
i did uac AGESSSS ago and i have downloaded my application confirmation so that’s it right?
Not all courses can be applied through uac. In NSW, many unis can be applied to uac since many of them have atleast one campus in NSW. You can only apply to the specific major through uac if the uni has opened that major in NSW. This doesn't apply to the ACT unis because they share the same system with us.
You will have to apply through other websites such as vtac, tisc or satac for Victorian, Western Australian or South Australian courses that aren't available in NSW campuses. For NT and Tasmania you will need to apply to the uni directly because both only have one universities.
After you received your ATAR, you should start applying to your course for each round. The rounds go around almost as exactly timeline wise when you received your ATAR and until the uni semester starts. For each round, you are allowed to have 5 preferences, 1 for your most wanted preference to 5 for your least preferred preference. Always a good idea to have a safe option as backup just in case that you didn't get into what you wanted to study.
UAC application timeline:
After each census date you can't change your preference for that round anymore and will have to wait for the results. Each course will have its lowest selection criteria and its guaranteed ATAR or selection rank, so check on it carefully.
