do i need tutoring for ext 2 math? (1 Viewer)

so i've been doing pretty well for myself and i am currently rank 1 (but only out of 2 ) for ext 2 maths and i got 85% on my last task but it was a fairly easy task since we did it in week 5 so it had barely any content.

now that we are starting to get into more complicated things to do with complex numbers and proofs, i'm finding it a bit hard to self teach all the content and i never feel like i'm understanding things to the depth i want to anymore. i also feel as if i won't be able to reach the scope of questions and exposure that i would get if i went tutoring.
anyways, what do you guys think? is it still possible to do well without tutoring for ext 2? or will i be okay if i just keep spamming questions from textbooks and past papers?

As someone who was also rank 1 of 2 in ext 2 math, it don't think it's essential to have a tutor for it to achieve significant results. I didn't have one and I think I should get a high e3 or maybe if I'm lucky a low e4. But in the same vein, tutoring is likely to help you out if you feel that you are struggling.

The way I decide whether I need tutoring is by asking the question: "Am I understanding the content when I walk out of the lesson?"

If the answer is yes and I can go straight into practice problems, then there's no problem. If the answer is partially then I'd probably not worry, but it would be dependent on how much effort you need to put in to achieve complete understanding. If the answer is no and you basically have to go through the entire lesson again, then tutoring is probably something you should go for.

As for achieving the scope of questions, I don't entirely think tutoring will expand it too much more, as long as you're covering plenty of questions from past papers and current syllabus textbooks, since the time you don't spend with a tutor will probably be self-study anyway (at least it was for me).

tl;dr: It really depends on your learning style and how much your falling behind. If you feel you're falling behind every lesson, get tutoring to catch up, if not then don't.

If you start struggling, start it before it's too late.
I tried to self-teach myself maths accelerated and the like and got completely wasted.
You can try doing it yourself if you want, but I assure you, it's an uphill battle where victory becomes a distant memory.

a lot of private tutors offer free first lessons

if you're pretty decent it's defo not necessary but get it if u want
