How and where do you advertise yourself?
superprof and highschooltutors are both decent, you can also use local Facebook groups. lots of people are looking for tutors at the start of term 1, so if you have a profile up then that’s useful. beyond that referrals help a lot, pretty much all of my students come from referrals from existing students

I know this is extremely unrealistic but I'm. Desperate to and I'd like any advice I can get, in case anyone is in a similar situation or knows someone who is.
If u do this you'd probably have to pick a uni in a cheaper cost of living area like UQ in Brisbane or ANU in Canberra. If you did this in Sydney you'd have to make uncompromising commutes from greater western sydney.

Isn't the market for immediately-graduated tutors oversaturated?
oversaturated for randoms with a high-ish atar and no teaching experience. i think from memory there's always a demand for competent english tutors if that's something you're capable of. word of mouth travels fast via parents apparently. i basically had to slowly cut down on students to manage uni + work until my last cohort finished and i focused entirely on work relevant to my degree.

thanks❤ but fr some tutoring companies will hire anyone with a half decent atar. u just need to throw the word passion into the interview and not seem like a pred
its just an ndis level scam but people will eat it up for the foreseeable future. people are charging like 40-80 an hour with 0 experience and all they have is a big number. teaching is an entirely different skillset from just knowing things, but i guess it adds an incentive to get a high atar because you just farm it for a few years for ridiculous amounts of money
