im dying over mod c could anyone give me some feedback on my concept for the imaginative? i just need a fresh mind to look at it. any advice would be appreciated

so the concept is the narrator is a tree on a suburban street (im thinking first person pov), who observes passers by OR the family whose yard its planted in
theres opportunity for metaphors and imagery with seasonal changes, birds living in the tree, a nest/treehouse, items left at the tree (like a scarf tied around it or something)
depending on the prompt theres potential for adaptation as the environment changes around the tree OR an individual who constantly returns to the tree OR the tree is elsewhere (middle of nowhere, in a park, in a pot, etc)
my main concerns are that if its too indirect to have a character observe others rather than just narrate the individuals, and also that its an inanimate narrator.
also i havent really thought about links to Nam Le (mod C text) if a reflection asks for it

so idk (i havent actually written anything yet)

have u read the island of missing trees (book)? one of the narrators is a straight up tree. we were forced to read it in year 11.
so i think it can work but . it's gotta be good. maybe u want to have some environmental themes in there. or heavy ass symbolism with the tree for the natural world or life and death or some shit. which i think is kind of what it seems u have there. but if the tree is in first person - why? what does it add? what does a tree feeling emotion mean?
that's my personal opinion on it but i'm no english teacher, feel free to ignore me

if u do the family one then i think theres a clear thematic link to the nam le one, but also since ur doign first person pov that would also link to nam les one anyways

What’s the message in this? It needs to say something.

In my experience, I just wrote a base story and adapted it to the question when it came to it. So my story absolutely did have a meaning. I think you should figure out a theme for the story that you can default to if the prompt is broad. But do what you want.
