why dont teachers use textbooks anymore? (1 Viewer)

ok so this might only apply to me idk if u guys still use them or not but im literally crashing out because if we still used textbooks in classes geniunely i would be so set for trials. like my only class that has a textbook which is geography is the most helpful resource because it literally has everything i need to know for my trial (obviously because thats what a textbook is for) but literally none of my other classes have one, and idk anywhere to access them for free. point is, im crashing out because why have teachers decided to make life difficult and do powerpoints for everything when we can just use the textbook because its literally like a whole book of study notes

i'm in year 11, but i've used the SDD textbook for SE (accel) in class a fair bit, and definitely a lot in modern and ancient... might just be a teaching style

This is my school to For ancient I had to find them in a random cupboard in the school & when I asked if we could use them the teachers were like wait we own these??? But then again in on distance for Ancient so they should be sending me the textbooks

I think it's because there would be no time, most textbooks are quite big and they'd most prolly have to assign readings and what not to use it to its full capacity if that's what you mean, but I do agree if you mean only sections of of the textbook. Also textbooks cover a lot of oos stuff, and kids would most likely get confused between what's important to study, focusing on hsc style questions is much better, andddd they most likely have no money (or don't think it's best to spend it on textbooks), pretty sure teachers aren't allowed to give you a digital copy of it and would either have to buy everyone textbooks or ask the parents to buy one for their kids.
