My school does dux based on the person who gets the most 1st in internals, so last yrs dux did cafs, business, eng adv, math std and bio and was first in 4 but she wasnt dux in terms of atar,
the atar dux was 97.95 and was a girl that did 4u math, chem, physics and eng adv but she wasnt acknowledged as dux tho
yea exactly, dux is based solely off internal marks and rankings.
also bro the girl who got dux at your school is a legend wtf 5 subjects is crazy

clearly the girl with 4u maths and physics deserved it the most

i thought only you and uac could see but i just saw a post on the hsc discussions group on facebook saying the system changed last year and that the school can access your atar through "school hub"??
how can you opt out of this?
and can any teachers confirm whether they can access the atars for everyone...

From what my principal told me, the school gets access to everyone's ATARs at 10:00, 1 hour after students get them. Aparently you can 'opt out', but I've yet to find out how to do this. NESA also says the following: Screenshot 2025-12-15 at 8.21.03 pm.png

I believe they only know your HSC marks from NESA not your ATAR, as UAC is the organisation that calculates everyone’s ATARs rather than NESA.

That said it wouldn’t be too hard to calculate one’s approximate ATAR with all their subject scores

Well my school must prob know everyone’s atar cause they have a high achievers assembly where everyone who gets a 90+ atar gets an award and they award the dux with highest atar

They'll figure it out eventually, and if you get a few band 6s it wouldn't be too hard to estimate anyone's ATAR
