Wait so do you guys think I should try out for edutest or HAST for year 8 entry? Idk if it’s worth paying like $100 for HAST if there are like 2 seats

you have a great portfolio + report, i think you have a good chance of getting into both edutest and hast schools if you study consistently. it's not impossible, but harder to get into year 8 compared to other grades with more spots available. are your parents letting you take the test next year? cus for year 9 entry with edutest theres a lot more spots, and i think HAST has more spots in year 10(i havent done HAST for 3 years someone correct me if im wrong)

Hi everyone, does anyone have clues on how the year 8 entrance test at Normanhurst Boys high looks like? Got advice from the school as it will be Literacy and Numeracy but not HAST format. For Maths, should it cover year 6 & 7 topic based or just logic test e.g. abstract reasoning?

Also any chance to get into year 8 next year? I sent email to school whether any slot for year 8 and they confirm to submit application, does it mean they still need reserve? as not so many kids will be leaving actually. Thanks

yea shes right for yr 10 entry hast majority of kids get in n ppl i met online got into girra, penrith etc but edutest skls for yr 10 n 11 entry pretty sure they take more kids in compared to yr 8, 9 entry tho u can but chances r slim so u need to be extremely good.

Like other people have said in this thread there is a pretty limited amount of spots for y8 entry as many people don't leave so yeah you have to work really hard and achieve the best results you can. I dont really know much about the normanhurst boys part so sorryy

Thank you!! Yeah I'm planning to try again next year if I don't get in this year, but probably for edutest since a lot of people are saying there are more seats for year 9 entry.

My hopes are pretty low this year since penrith doesn't take many people in for year 8 entry. I'm kinda just using this as a practice for year 10 I guess
