Does anyone know if you can get into james ruse with 9 As and 1 B for yr 9 entry, provided that you do well on edutest?
I don't know much about selective entry, but i feel as though you're likely to get in, given that you do/did well on edutest

By the sound of it, your grades will not be the problem; if you don't get in, it's more likely to be something else

i'm sure you'll get responses from people more knowledgeable than me :)

Yh they consider Edutest before anything else. I think you should only be worrying if you're getting like Cs and Ds

wouldn’t they take our reports differently?
i can't answer that, it's not like i know how they decide which applicants make it in lol. but having nearly all As is a great achievement academically, study for edutest and your good grades + good edutest scores will be enough to make it in for year 9 entry

Ok thank you! What about penrith and girra?
Like Spiderlemonade said, reports r rly important 4 hast skls like that's the next thing they check after ur hast marks n it doesnt matter which skl ur from pretty sure unless ur like bottom skl like Pairewood HS etc, cuz for some reason top skl look down at the botton hs like pairwood for some reason.

Wait…but prairiewood HS is partially selective, and if they think they’re low, they’re definitely gonna look down on me because my skl is lower than that 😭
But I think you said you got an interview from penrith, what skl did you go to? And what were your HAST marks?

Anyone know roughly how competitive nsb is in terms of year 10 entry?
Next year I’m thinking of doing one of the prestigious schools as first pref (ruse, nsb, baulko)
and then penrith and Girraween as 2nd and 3rd

Also I think hast/edutest is number one priority to most schools..
Prestigious schools like nsb, ruse, ns, baulko etc also care about extracurriculars and mid ladder schools like Girraween and Penrith don’t really care as much
I think they look at hast/edutest results first since there’s a minimum mark you must meet. If you don’t ur immediately cut (which happened to me :v)
Then they look at your other stuff and hast schools usually only care about hast marks but edutest school actually care a ton about your reports and excs.
I could be wrong but lmk
