interestingly enough my parents want me to go uni too but they dont care what degree i do as long as i do something that guarantees me a job after i graduate

they wont disown me per say if i dont get in directly to a degree bc lets be so fr its so damn easy getting in uni these days (bridging courses, tafe then uni, overseas uni etc.) so i think they dont care as much as long as i end up at uni at some point

both me and my parents, they don't want me going straight after school but im allowed once i reach a certain point in life then i can study and do whatever but till im like 25 they want me to be financially free so we plan for me just to work wherever, save everything and invest before i start worrying about a career plus school sucks

idk if that makes sense but like no uni until im loaded basically so i'll just get a job wherever till im in a good spot to pursue something

my parents are taking a diff route in the parenting sense so it sounds a lil weird rn but i just wanna be rich so we'll get there with this path

my parents expect USYD or UNSW, though I think there's a small preference to USYD it js depends on the degree though ie. for sciences as a whole UNSW would generally be better

also ppl seem to hate the trimesters at UNSW, and as an added bonus to the general length of transport longer to USYD (ig ten minutes for most ppl considering you take the train there) you have to compete with sg and sb students on the metro

my parents were like this lmao. They only wanted me to go to macq or western because "the unis in the city are too far away" (which didnt make sense because the unis they wanted me to go to were even further), but the day i got my atar they literally went 180 and said only usyd
