im trying bro but im just an alcohol(𝕚𝕔)stop taking C2H6O especially before the exam its not good for u
IUPAC preferred names might be things like but-2-ene but the real world will ignore IUPAC and continue to call it 2-butene.Hi guys, for mod 7 nomenclature, our school uses the old method like 2-butene instead of but-2-ene, would we lose mark for that? Thanks
Honestly the best way is to just double check your exam. What I do (doesn’t really work for chemistry as much) is see if I can plug in the answer I got into some formula and see if the numbers match the question.anyone have advice on how to not make a million dumb mistakes? in the exam i might look over my work several times and only realise after.
im talking like plugging the wrong number into the calculator, accidentally moving the decimal place or forgetting to refer to collision theory
As someone who got 95/100 on chem trials, here's what I'd recommend. The number one thing that helped me make fewer mistakes was being calm and focused. Not too calm that you don't care about the exam, but just not frantically stressed out of your mind. I know it's hard since it's a HSC exam, but this will really help you focus. For any written responses over 3 marks, plan them out, especially graph-based responses. I like to write small numbers at the top of my page (e.g 1, 2, 3 ,4) for the ideas I am going to write about. I find this helps me structure the response much better, and you tend to lose fewer marks for missing information or a hard-to-read response. For calculations, again, I would number what I need to do. For example, with an enthalpy of neutralisation question, I would write out 1. Find moles of reactants, 2. Find limiting ratio, 3. Find moles of water produced, 4. Sub given values into q =mcΔt, 5. Turn q into kj and sub into enthalpy equation.anyone have advice on how to not make a million dumb mistakes? in the exam i might look over my work several times and only realise after.

long synthesis calculation of a polymer followed by yappery about the properties of produced polymer clip itI think we should start predicting questions for this yr
These I think will definitely be in it:
-back titration calculation (6-7marks)
-How Aboriginal people used solubility equilibria OR Acid-Base knowledge (3-4marks)
-Finding the compound from various spectrum (7-9 marks)
-Enthalpy of combustion calculations (4 marks)
-Explaining trend of solubility/boiling/melting point of organic compounds (4-5 marks) Maybe including a graph as well
-Evaluating a chemical synthesis process(5-6 marks)
-Something about isomers
-Cleaning action of soaps maybe..
-Identifying ions in solution using precipitation and/or flame test (4marks)
mf r u telling me the last time u took ur exam was like more than two weeks ago?long synthesis calculation of a polymer followed by yappery about the properties of produced polymer clip it
HNMR is the best organic analysis thobro I am dying over trying to work on proton nmr, i hope its not in the exam tomorrow
Theres like always 1 in every hscbro I am dying over trying to work on proton nmr, i hope its not in the exam tomorrow
remembering the peak multiplicity rules and why they work is doing my head in nglHNMR is the best organic analysis tho
I hate H-NMR. I only mention it for the number of unique proton environments and that's it. It's normally enough for the full marks.bro I am dying over trying to work on proton nmr, i hope its not in the exam tomorrow
it is??I hate H-NMR. I only mention it for the number of unique proton environments and that's it. It's normally enough for the full marks.
Normally for like 7ish marks ones you can only do that and add the total amount of protons for good measure and it'll be enough as long as you address all the other spectra as well. Even for mass spectra, all I use it for is the MM.it is??
sameas a humanities leaning person idk why i picked a science![]()
please teach my how im so ass at those questionssame![]()
even tho i love chem humanities is def my strengths
