each question is mini surface level essay and not much maths

yup, even vce physics exams have no essay component and theirs is 80% maths. I would've done better in vce physics no doubt.

math advanced is way easier... yet u only need a 76 for a band 6. compare that to chem 87

That was just 2023 as far as I know which was an incredibly easy exam compared to other ones.
Also whatever the hsc alignment system doesn’t account for uac’s atar scaling system will

Yeah to do it properly you have to apply it to each dissociation step. You could theoretically derive the equation for diprotic acids but I would expect some twos somewhere in the equation. And threes for triprotic

i found 2023 easiest, followed by 2021, 2020, and 2019/2022, havent done 24 yet. (also range of this is like 5% so theyre about the same)

I found easiest -> hardest was 2019, 2023, 2021, 2024, 2022, 2020
2021 was really different to all the other tests imo

cause this is from a trial paper company called "Independent" they suck, and suck even more when your teacher is a "um aktually" person who follows their retarded marking scheme.

5 marks for correct calc and balanced chem equation
2 marks for correct or partially correct calc and no balanced chem equation

Nah my teacher kinda modified their marking criteria a bit I think because forgetting chemical equations only ever lost 1 mark for us (max, not per equation) unless the question specified to include X number of them.

Probably realised the criteria didn't reflect the HSC as well as it could have

2023 was definitely the easiest (coming from someone who did chem in 2023) but there were a few randomly hard questions like a back titration (I’m good at maths but I still lost track of all my variables) and a ‘classify the compound’ 9 mark (which I did get correct but lost a few marks on working out probably)
