but maybe I'm just overthinking this but at least with dropping bio I had this gut feeling that I should drop whereas for math I'm not feeling any conviction. But idk if I should rely on that cause like maybe I'm just tired or stubborn to believe that I should actually drop. But lowkey is it better to get a b6 in std without too much study or have to work ur ass off and possibly sacrifice ur other subjects to get a b5 in adv

Should I write an email to the head teacher?
i reckon make a pros and cons table, talk to ppl from yr12 who did or not do the same thing at your school cause i’m assuming your teacher would have said this to them last year no? and think abt it for at least 1 week maybe even 2. it’s too soon to drop rn in my opinion if you don’t have the gut feeling rn

I don't think it's actually that easy to get a b6 in std ngl and I would trust that gut feeling actually because it goes to show that you don't want to drop so if you don't want to drop then why drop?

ik but part of me kinda wants to drop. But I'll just wait and see. Cause even with bio I didn't have that gut feeling to drop until I got prelims back and that's when I felt like I really wanted to drop. I might just wait for a bit

Not the same subject but i remember term 2 of Y12, i failed my internal exam so bad for business studies. I had a massive breakdown that time and considered dropping but my mum wouldnt let me and she made me wait a bit longer to think abt it. Now that internals r over, i finished 3rd in my cohort which honestly had me so happy bc i thought i failed that subject. My point is, one internal is not an end all and after the standard maths exam this year, i think it rlly shows that standard is not necessarily all that much easier. It just requires a different skillset. I think whatever u end up doing, just make sure its what u want and not bc someones forcing u into it. Gll!! U got this ♥

yes exactly this

in my whole two years in standard math ive never regretted it cuz i was thriving and thought i was guaranteed a band 6

but after sitting that exam last week thats the first time i considered what if i had just stayed in advanced the scaling for standard is shit anyways

thats not the point lol but yeh ur right theyre making standard tests harder
